Soprano Rachel Silverstein is a passionate performer with a love for both opera and musical theater. She has been praised for the clarity and warmth of her “fine voice” (Ithaca Times) as well as her compelling stage presence. She is a regular soloist with MORE Opera of Manhattan and professional church singer for the northern New Jersey area. Previous performance roles include a "Despina" in a staged reading of COSI FAN TUTTE (Luke Housner Summer Opera Workshop), "Helena" in Britten's mythical opera A MIDSUMMER NIGHTS DREAM (Mason Gross School of the Arts), "Lady Billows"(ALBERT HERRING, Miami Classical Musical Festival), "La Musica" (L'ORPHEO, Mason Gross School of the Arts), "Pitti-Sing" (THE MIKADO, the Pittsburgh Savoyards), and "La Gloire" (ARMIDE, Miami Classical Music Festival).

Silverstein has previously been a guest performer with the Pittsburgh Civic Orchestra as a soloist for the annual Holiday Pops concert. Most recently she has premiered Andrew Kosinski's chamber work, "Malstâ al tornerá seren!" with the Helix! Ensemble. She had previously performed with the Helix! Ensemble
as "Mamlambo" in Angelique Mouyis' duet "Still" from her opera BESSIE.

In addition to her performing work, Rachel is dedicated to sharing her love of music and singing with others.
She works with students to help them develop their vocal technique, gain confidence, and explore the artistry of performance. Rachel believes in creating a supportive and encouraging environment where each student can grow and find their unique voice.

Silverstein graduated May 2022 with her Masters in Opera Performance from the Mason Gross School of the Arts with the reception of the Michael Fardink Memorial Award for Outstanding Vocalist.
